Miraculously the sun shone on both the days we were open – the only sunny days in weeks of cloud and rain. So despite the worry about parking (our fields were too sodden and cars had to park in our drive) everything went well and as usual the visitors were delightful, their dogs were beautifully behaved, our helpers were brilliant and we had a lovely time.
Someone left behind a pair of spectacles (long distance) and a pretty pair of gloves (see below). i will willingly post them or arrange collection.

The snowdrops are even better this week even though the weather has reverted to the usual gloom. The naturalised invalid in our little wood are nearly all flowering and the cyclamen coup in sizzling pinks and all shades of pink and white set them off beautifully. We are getting a good number of aconites too which have been slow to decide that they like it here. Now they seem to be seeding around a bit. A touch of sun makes the snowdrops sparkle but alas there has been too little this year.
