Masses of our snowdrops are flowering and looking so wonderful. it is always a great relief to see our old friends re-appearing and even more so when last year’s expensive purchases emerge from winter’s cold grip.I had forgotten how stunning Ivington Green is and i am pleased that the considerable price (I forget exactly how much it cost) was justified. Very large flowers with strong markings on the outer segments make it stand out in the garden which is what i like.
Our longstanding gardener Jacky has been in hospital having a hip replacement so we worried that the garden would not be ready for the NGS days on 7th and 8th. We have been very lucky to find Danielle Bott of Bottanical and her helpers Will and John to tidy things up for us and they have done a wonderful job.
The ground is still very damp so parking will be a problem next weekend and we have had to ask people to book in advance to limit the numbers. We hope so much for a sunny dry day.
