What's Looking Good

NOVEMBER BLUES

by | Nov 5, 2024 | Uncategorized

November again! My least favourite month with absolutely nothing to recommend it. This year it has started off with nothing but grey skies but it is so mild that the garden is full of colour which is some compensation.

Cyclamen hederifolium are looking wonderful and i do adore them. The flowers are an enchanting mix of pink, white and cerise. I try to increase the number of dark pinks. The leaves are gorgeous with their subtle markings of silver and green. We have them all over the garden with one especially good group under Cratageus prunifolia which is covered with scarlet berries just now. i am particularly pleased with the cyclamen i have planted under our old yew tree. The ground there is dry and intensely shady and had been colonised by weeds of various kinds and so became a bit of an eyesore. Now the weeds have been eradicated and lots of cyclamen tubers planted and the area has been transformed.
